ABOUT SUMMER DRAFT SKATE

Established in 2025 at Mt. Clemens Ice Arena in Mt. Clemens, MI, the Summer Draft Skate is an organized and structured invite-only hockey game comprised of local professional (NHL, AHL, ECHL, etc.), college (NCAA D1/D3, ACHA) and junior (CHL, USHL, NAHL, etc.) players from across the greater Metro Detroit area! After a successful inaugural Year 1 in Summer 2025 , the Summer Draft Skate is excited to return for Year 2 in Summer 2026!

OUR story

The idea was simple: to start a skate and create an environment for players to compete during the summer off-season - the Summer Draft Skate!

Every decision we make is shaped by a clear sense of purpose. Our journey has been anything but ordinary. Through every step, we've focused on staying true to our values and making space for thoughtful, lasting work.

What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. We’re proud of where we’ve been and even more excited for what’s ahead!

The mission of the Summer Draft Skate is to provide and deliver a safe, positive learning environment while focusing on the growth, development, and experience of each player through the core values of sportsmanship, competitiveness, and community during the off-season summer months!

The vision of the Summer Draft Skate is to create and fulfill a unique and unparalleled hockey experience for each player during off-season summer months while providing opportunities for players to interact, learn from, and compete with other players who share similar goals of reaching the next level!
